Spots:

A) Ponton.
Located 5 minutes walk from the center, next to the wood jetty where all fishermen sell their catch of the day, the spot of Ponton offers small waves to be ridden right of the beach. If the lft part of the spot (looking from the beach) has some rocks, and very little water at low tide, the right part, closer to the jetty, is perfect for people to paddle out, and get their first sensations on small waves breaking on a sandy bottom without any current. Totally safe, it is the locals favorite sunset spot too. Good atmosphere on the water. Ideal for beginners, especially at high tide, the waves remain nice even when the rest of the bay is windy. Works better from April to November (low season).

B) Punta Sino
Located 10 minutes walk downwind from the center alongside the beach, Punta Sino is a spot that combines great wave sailing on the left of the wreck (with a bit of current and rocks though), and a very special surfing spot right behind the point (right of the wreck, towards Ponta Preta. Why special ? Because this spot offers (not all the time), a nice beach break with a wave that allows you to surf very close and parallely to the beach, with a sandy bottom. There is sometimes a strong current at Sino, but it has the great advantage to push you alongside the beach, which implies some paddling to remain at the peak, but keeps people close to the shore at all time: once the wave is ridden, surfers get on the beach, and walk up to the peak, before entering the water again. According to level of waves and size of waves, we can use the center's rescue boat to bring people directly behind the wave. Top luxury !! Works most of the winter, from October till May.

C) Kitebeach (East Coast)
Extremely safe as well, Kitebeach offers various beach sections without any kiters or rocks for people to practice surfing on the east coast. The spot is located 10 to 15 minutes away by car from the center, and offers onshore wind conditions, which means small breaking waves and lots of white water, with a little current that brings you directly back onto the beach. Ideal for people who have already learned how to paddle out, and will practice their first rides.

Transportation will be organised by the center with Pick up, and the price should be shared equally between all participants (you get 6 people in a taxi with their boards, and the round trip costs about € 20,-).

D) Other spots
Without revealing all the local secret spots of the island, Sal's west coast is basically a succession of surfspots for advanced surfers. Mainly isolated and accessible only with 4WD cars, these spots are almost exclusively for people who want to rent equipment out and surf at their own risks, not places where we would offer more than safaris with Supervision, after having checked the participants level in one of the above mentionned spots first ! Among other names: Mont Leon, Ali baba, Mordeira, .. and of course the mystical right of Punta Preta.
